AARP and Walgreens are working together to help adults 50+ take greater control of their health by providing resources, tools and expertise on the wise use of medicines.
Many diseases can be detected through screenings long before any symptoms are noticed, which is why awareness is so important to remaining healthy. To help, the AARP/Walgreens Wellness Tour will launch in April and will provide free services and screenings for adults. Nine buses are traveling across the US and Puerto Rico stopping in over 3,000 communities with special emphasis on underserved areas. Free screenings include: total cholesterol levels, blood pressure, bone density, glucose levels, waist circumference and body mass index. For schedule and more information click here.
In conjunction with AARP state offices and local Walgreens pharmacists, free medication reviews and health forums will be held. Go to your state web page to see if an event is coming to your neighborhood.
